Scott started his football career with Woodside Boys Club in his home town of Glenrothes from eight years of age until 12, then Glenrothes Strollers until the age of 14. Alex Carswell picked Scott up for Dunfermline U15 and he has come up through the youth programme at Dunfermline.

Currently Scott is in his second year in the U19s and travelled to Tynecastle for the CIS Insurance cup tie against Hearts expecting to be on the bench. An hour before the game Manager Stephen Kenny took him out on to the pitch and told him that he was starting.  The match was played in front of 10,500 people, slightly more than he normally plays in front of with the U19s!
